Since 2012, I have led the Economic Development and Poverty Section (EDPS) at UN-ESCWA, focusing on poverty measurement and inclusive macroeconomic and fiscal policies for Arab countries. From 2002-2012, I was a Policy Adviser at UNDP for Arab States, addressing macroeconomic policies, employment, inequality, and poverty reduction. I have authored/co-authored over 40 UN publications, including key regional reports like “Arab Vision 2030” and “Arab Development Challenges Reports.” My academic background includes an M. Phil and D. Phil in Development Economics from the New School for Social Research, and an M. Phil in Development Planning and Environment from the University of Dundee.
