Raphael Thelen
Raphael is a reporter and author. Since 2011, he has reported on the uprisings in the Arab world, the war in Afghanistan, the rise of the new right in East Germany, and has covered the climate crisis for several years. He teaches journalism and storytelling at various academies and universities. In 2021, his second book, co-authored with Theresa Leisgang, was published: "Two at the Pulse of the Earth – A Journey to the Scenes of the Climate Crisis and Why There Is Hope Despite Everything." In 2018, "Medium Magazin" named him one of the "Top 30 Under 30," and in 2020 he was shortlisted for the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism. In 2021, he received the German Podcast Prize as a member of the editorial team for the podcast "1.5 Degrees – The Climate Podcast with Luisa Neubauer." He lives in Berlin
