Rita Khawand is the co-founder of SOILS Permaculture Association Lebanon, transitioning from a career in the cultural sector to focus on permaculture nearly a decade ago. She has worked extensively with municipalities, organizations, and individuals to raise awareness of sustainability and promote best practices in rural development, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable agriculture. Rita has managed SOILS since its founding in 2014, leading initiatives like Lebanon's first internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate course and the AFIR Beekeeping and Nature Discovery Center.
