    I suspect they filmed it Israel because they feared that people from the tourist board would have interfered if their artistic vision did not match with the image the tourist board wants to promote.

    Wild. We actually just booked flights to Turkey and are planning on visiting Beirut after being inspired by this show (http://bit.ly/12W63qG). Perhaps we should visit Israel instead? Honestly, Beirut has been on the list for years but that episode just reminded us of it.
